A different generations view at a ‘no spend month’

Today I was chatting to my Mum about my grand plan at a ‘no spend July’. I explained the idea to her & she had a bit of a pause then said with humor in her voice – when you kids were little we called that a ‘normal month’.

Hmmm. Yep. Realisation of just how ridiculous our generations spending habits have become hit me. We by no means bring in lots of money. But we always have money for bills, food & shelter. We don’t think anything of spending money here & there on weekends or buying smaller items regularly.

Maybe we need this no spend month more then I thought to bring appreciation & gratitude back into our lives.

Bring on July!
