I wasn’t sure which picture to post for today. I had such a nice day for my birthday. It started with the dawn service for ANZAC day, nap, lunch in Megalong Valley at the tea rooms then wine tasting at a cellar door.
Decided on the sunrise pic because I generally only see one sunrise a year & it’s a very special one. It’s at the dawn service. It’s a day to honor & remember our present & past servicemen & women. It’s incredibly important.
My favourite words today were from Dr Brendan Nelson AO.
102,700 Australians are named on the Roll of Honour. Like us, each had only one life, one chance to serve others and our nation.
They chose us.
To young Australians – your search for belonging, meaning and values for the world you want – ends here.
Enshrined in stained glass windows sentinel above the Tomb of the Unknown Australian Soldier, are fifteen values informing character:
If you really think about each of those 15, they are spot on. They are 15 values that I hope to have. That my kids live by as they grow. That their kids kids inherit.
